THE CHRONICLE OF MY SOUL... a day to day account of my thoughts and prayer.
On Pleasing Thee... Father, I know that all my life is portioned out for me,and the changes that are sure to come I do not fear to see;I ask Thee for a present mind, Intent on pleasing Thee. I would not have the restless will That hurries to and fro,Seeking for some great thing to do or secret thing to know; I would be treated as a child and guided where I go. Wherever in the world I am,in whatsoever estate, I have a fellowship with hearts to keep and cultivate

Isang Paanyaya- An Invitation
Hello sa inyong lahat!
Bago ako umalis ng Pilipinas, two years ago, binibigyan pansin na ang paggamit ng Taglish sa UP (University of the Philippines). This in fact is under study and most of the intelligent people at U.P., nationalist or otherwise or shall we say globally oriented are divided in this issue. In my own opinion, the supporters of the use of Taglish are gaining good ground in this aspect.
Kung mapapansin ninyo ngayon eh , you will find good books written in Taglish. If you would notice also, the newscasters in TFC use Taglish too. Kung di nyo pa rin alam ang alpabetong Pilipino ay hindi na A B K D E ( pronunced as a ba ka da e ga ha i etc.) kundi A B C D E F G H I J K L M N and Ñ Ng O P R S T U V W X Y Z and if you would continue singing it .. ; ito ang alpabetong Pilipino, madaling bigkasin sabayan nyo ako -( ulitin) A B C....ETC..
As an educator, I was really really challenged by this. Do you know him? Napakalutong at napakasarap pakinggan. Well, I had a paradigm shift regarding this. If you don't know what I'm talking about then make a research. Hindi po, nagbibiro lang . I changed my view regarding this; fan na po ako ni Kris Aquino ngayon. Ay! lalong hindi po. Hahaba po kasi itong panyaya ko. Just ask me when I get to see you. It's just that I see the value of communication or communicating well and sending your message across where many people would benefit. I decided to change my strategy to reach people but my core values are still the same.
Most English words are now accepted as colloquial words in Filipino like ballpen, hot dog, teacher ( titser). Modern colloquial Tagalog or Filipino typically adopts English nouns and verbs into the speech, even if there are equivalent terms in the native language. This pseudo-dialect is called Taglish ( " portmanteau" ika nga) -combining the words Tagalog and English like if you combine smoke and fog , you will form the word smog. Napapansin ko rin na karamihan ay tinatamad magbasa because we can't relate to the articles or books we're reading. Hindi na po ako magpapasikut-sikot, I want to invite anyone who wants to make an article in Taglish on the next issue of our newsletter, "Usapang Pampamilya". This column will feature articles on family life. This sounds interesting eh and I know we will learn something out of this. So those who have a gift in writing, umpisahan nyo na o baka naman di nyo pa nadiskubre na may gift kayo? How would you know if you won't try?
I hope that this space will provide an opportunity for Filipinos to express themselves and be better informed in a dynamic manner. I felt the need to be proactive in this regard.
This is your editor of Let the RIVERS flow inviting you to join me in this endeavor. Praying that this move of faith will be successful.
Fervently,
Eden

What is Christmas and what is it all about? It is about Jesus, and that amazing day when God himself came among us, humans as a flesh-and-blood baby boy. Some people still have that thought that this child is just a store- bought doll that they see in the Nativity scene and the Christmas story is no more than a mere fiction or myth. But NO, this child is but flesh and blood, very much alive. And in HIM we view the miracle of miracles, God becoming flesh, "incarnate”. This is the greatest miracle;--the God of infinite glory and radiance became human with all its bodily limitations.
"[Christ Jesus], who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness." (Philippians 2:6-7)
What an awesome miracle!
Its very purpose was revealed when the angel has told Joseph: "You shall call his name Jesus, FOR he shall save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21). It is only by becoming human that God can offer himself as a fitting atonement for our sins. This flesh-and-blood baby grew to be a flesh-and-blood man. On the night before he was betrayed he takes bread and blesses it, and says it is his flesh. He takes wine and blesses it, and says it is his blood. And the very next day his flesh is torn and his blood is shed to save us from our sins.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. On our Christmas celebration, this 19th of December, the ROLIM family would like to deeply understand, appreciate and celebrate the greatest miracle of all, the miracle of Christmas; to be able to reach out and encourage others and let this miracle be manifested in our lives.

Who am I ?
Thank you Lord
for reminding me once again through this song
how significant I am
and for giving me back the confidence
that no matter what .. YOU STILL LOVE ME... that's one thing that would never change indeed. Sometimes, we have that gut feeling that your love changes ... no, it doesn't we are the one changing and our love withers but you keep us ...
Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt,
Who am I?
That the Bright and Morning Star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart
